Disconnected hoses/clamps

I've learned a lot from reading around this board. It seems like people post about hoses/clamps/etc popping loose while driving. Is this only an issue with aftermarket parts, or do I need to worry about my bone-stock car? Is it just that you need to make sure that they are tight when installed, or do you need to go back periodically and tighten a bit? I just got my IX last weekend and I want to be careful. Thanks.

Usuall happens when you start raising the boost, change to aftermarket i/c pipes etc. And, eventually things just loosen up on there own after time. Also, the flex sections get worn out and start blowing up like balloons under heavy boost. This makes them come off also. A way to keep this from happening, or to fix it, use t-bolt clamps. I've heard alot of guys say to use hairspray, I've never tried it.

The only thing known to "pop-off" is intercooler piping. This has been known to happen on cars that were being driven home from the dealership (brand new). A good way to avoid this problem is to use silicon couplers with tclamps, and a little hairspray. That will hold boost like crazy

Even with hair spray tbolt and silicone they still pop off. Yesterday I let my girl take my car up to Phoenix(100mi) on her way the lower driver IC pipe blew off, she though she blew my motor . It sucked, I had to drive an hour out to her fix it with limited tools and the f***n undertray on! No fun!!! But then agian 25 psi can do that...

I guess the only sure fix is to just weld hard pipes to your intercooler, turbo, and throttle body

most say that the problem usually occurs under high boost. would you recommend i go and buy some t-bolt clamps now, or just wait and put them on as i start modding various parts (LICP, UICP, etc) ?

wait as you mod... I have used double oem hose clamps on my piping and that seems to work great!!! + its cheaper than tbolt. tbolt can also bend piping too...
