I don't have too many of it, yet. It is neglected for the most part. But SO fun to drive. I want to turn it into more of a trackmobile. It is pretty much stock except for coilovers right now.

Okay, I hate to admit it, but I think the Evo has torque steer as well... (Flame suit - ON!!!) Yes, by this I mean the steering wheel needs to be held tightly in 2 hands during WOT in 1st, or it will pull either right or left. I have had FWD cars in the past, and I know what torque steer is...
I came from an M3, which is obviously a RWD car that can be basically pointed in a directed and go WOT with a finger on the wheel with no problems. Coming straight over from the M3, is probably why I so readily noticed problems with the Evo.
Can't remember what the Evo felt like stock; it was at 340whp/340wtq by 1500mi...

Just a FYI...I just put on Falken 452s all around (I used to have bald Advans 046s) and now I notice alot of torque steer if that is what you want to call it.
On hard acceleration it pulls to the left, and letting off the throttle suddenly it pulls to the right. Very annoying. I suspect the tires have something to do with it so I'm rotating one side of the car at a time to see if that makes a diff. If it does I'll go back to the tire shop to have them replaced.
Has anyone else here ever had that problem with Falken tires?
Thanks,
Dan

I think what you guys are feeling is one tire gripping the road more than the other. The car will pull to the tire with the most grip. The feeling will be more pronounced if you have aftermarket rims that are wider or have a smaller offset (stick out further). The increased track has greater leverage on your steering.
If I accelerate hard in 1st, I too can feel pull but it usually goes back and forth depending on tire grip.
RWD cars do this too, but you don't feel it in the steering wheel.
Torque-steer is the wheel wanting to go straight under acceleration. Kind of like wipping out of your hands as you accelerate out of a turn. Older FWD cars with un-equal length axle shafts had this problem really bad.
If your car only pulls left or right under acceleration, then you have a different problem.
