Tranny oil change & metal shavings

Tranny oil change & metal shavings - pics
Hi all. With all the comments about tranny noise and possible problems, I decided to change my tranny fluid when I did my oil change and other maintenance at 3600 mi.
For reference:
My car was broke in acording to the guidelines. It has always shifted well and not made excessive tranny noise. I haven't crunched any gears, and while the car has been driven some, it hasn't been thrashed (or even seen a really hard launch).
Here is what my magnetic drain plug looked like when it came out of the car:
Lots of metal shavings! When I checked the old tranny fluid, it also left some light silver-grey metalic streaking. I'm guessing the streaking means there is metal suspended in the tranny fluid, as clean fluid doesn't do that.
Here's a picture of my drain plug after it's been cleand up and is ready to go back into the car.
After the fluid change my tranny is now almost silent; it's like driving a different car.
You can bet I'll be changing my tranny fluid again next oil change. I'm hoping that what I'm seeing here is from break-in and not a wear problem.

it's normal break-in that's why there's a magnetic plug there to catch the flakes once it has worn off the syncros. it will lessen over time. mitsu did right by having a magnetic plug, because not all mfg. do that.
