buschur exhaust gave me a high idle??
#2
I don't know about the idle problem, but I'll tell you from experience, buschur products are no good! I've seen a couple on cars at the shop near my house, and none of them fit right. The quality of them isn't that good compared to other companies. I would look at a different exhaust. Good luck though.

Yeah, David Buschur clearly has no idea what he's doing.
No one has had a fitment problem with their Evolution exhaust. I had minor ones with my Lancer exhaust, but it was also the first sold privately if I remember correctly. I've yet to hear of a single fitment issue on these forums.
Has the weather changed recently? Temp and/or humidity? Have you made any other mods in the meantime? Are there any other possible variables in the equation? It's possible the ECU is just adjusting to the increased exhaust flow as well by adding more fuel, but I dunno. Just a possibility to get things started maybe.

Gots to love the hearsay rumor guys...
Anyways, Buschur makes an awesome exhaust that bolts right on, with fitment better than stock.
As for the idle, turn it down at the idle air screw on the throttle body. I have mine dialed down to 850rpm this way, which seems to be a good setting.

Is it high all the time or only when you start it?
I have the 3" turbo back with test pipe and it did not seem to change my idle at all.
Also for people who are reading this, I did not have any issues at all installing Buschur's turbo back. Fit great and is mean as hell

What are you basing this on.... I have his turbo back its actuall pretty nice kinda of loud maybe not the finest welds I have seen but good price and performance. Do you have any of his products?

You can try reseting your ECU and see what happens.

First time starting the idle will be held high by the ECU, till the motor warms up and it goes into closed loop mode. While cold the idle seems to hang at 1500rpm or so, then gradually drops down as everything warms up.
The idle air screw is on the throttle body itself, but it sounds like you may want someone with some mechanical experience to handle setting it.

I just did turbo-back Buschur exhaust, Super AFC and manual boost controller this weekend. My idle is perfect. Did you reset your ECU?
I didn't get the cat though, so I can't comment on if that is the problem. Are you sure you got the band clamps tightened down firmly and made sure there are no leaks?
Regardless, all the Buschur Racing products I purchased were awesome. Bolted right up, fitment was almost dead on - and it sounds very cool. Sounds like a real DSM now
I love it when people post expert comments without even owning the products they're rating. It's like me telling you how good a trip to Hawaii is by only reading a brochure on it. midwest - do you even have an Evo?
