Mitsubishi Motors Reports June Sales Up 30%

July 3, 2007 -- CYPRESS, Calif. --
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) today reported June sales of 13,014 units, up 30% over last year's volume and the best June in four years. Calendar year-to-date sales of 70,357 are up 21% compared to last year's first-half total.

"The new Lancer and Outlander are well-received by new customers and current Mitsubishi owners," said President & CEO Hiroshi Harunari. "Going into the summer travel season, our dealers are reporting excellent results from our new fuel-efficient sedan and SUV."

Outlander was the volume leader at 3,414, up 63% from last month's volume and up 350% from last year's volume; and up 163% from last year's CYTD volume.
Lancer closed at 3,091 units up 195% from last year's volume and up 108% from last year's CYTD volume.
Galant closed at 3,026 units up 17% from last month's volume and up 18% from last year's June volume.

People who claim mitsu is goin under are ignorant to the fact that mitsu has at least one or part on every car, plane, boat, tv, radio, fork lift, and even tuna out there!!! Its nice to see them get up in the car end of things... If i can remember cunsumer reports said mitsu was 3-4th in overall good cars a year or two ago..

when i bought my sti, the dealer told me that mitsu is going under. haha

Mitsubishi is still struggling in the sense that their Japanese competition is far out of their league.

They weren't really lying. If there weren't billions of dollars invested into Mitsubishi motors, the company would be gone. By most accounts Mitsubishi shouldn't have survived.

Holy GOD! That is insane! I knew they had some finacial troubles, but never that bad. I am glad we could support them or we might all be dring Suby's.
