Just bought a new Evo... What do I need to do? Help me out please

Hey All,

I just bought a 2004 RR Evo VIII from the Evom Member Elf. It has 26,500k miles and about 10k in mods from AMS. I am wondering what I should do in terms of maintenance. This car is putting down 497awhp and obviously with stock drivetrain (minus the clutch), it needs some fluid changing.

I am thinking that I need to change the following:
-Front Differential
-Rear Differential
-Transmission
-Oil (I already did this, with new filter and crush bearing)

Anything else that I am missing?

TJ

Yes it is my first Evo... =). I have not crashed, I am a pretty responsible driver... haha. I change the spark plugs every oil change (2500-3000 miles, or after every track day).

I am taking it to AMS for them to change every fluid for me =)

DANG! That often on plugs? Are you running super rich or super lean and need to change them that often? Or, are you buying cheap ones because you do it every oil change. I checked mine at 10k, checked them at 20k and they still are in good condition.

Then again, i am all stock

Stock plugs are Iridium and last a long time unless you start modding a lot and upping the boost. He is probably referring to copper plugs, but I'm not sure what he means by saying he changes the plugs every 2500-3000 when he has never owned an Evo before, so either he's referring to different cars (not sure why you'd do that on other cars), or he's referring to his future plans as past actions. Even with the Evo as it is now, it won't make sense to change the oil or plugs that often unless he's racing frequently.

Making Close to 500hp and likly using Copper plugs VS the stock Irridiums. You'll need to change them often. Im sure elf told you the ins and outs. Plus you've been reading on here a while. You'll be fine. Good luck
