some evo questions & comments
The time has come to change the oil (again) and rotate the tires.(5500 miles). I am doing it myself this time because my dealer scares me a little.
I will keep this as short as possible.
I went to Pep boys to get oil and filter.
Two questions.
1) The guy sold me a filter for a lancer is this the same as the Evolution?
2) I bought Mobil One Performance Driving Formula 15W-50. It is finally warm here in Buffalo and I will be doing some "hard " driving (lets just leave it at that ). Is 15w-50 good to use? The only thing the owners manual says is that 10w-30 will work ok.
It is no wonder this car corners like a mother f'er, my front tires look like they have a 10 gedree chamfer on them! This thing is has major camber on it. If I did not rotate them they would be down to the cords in no time.
Lastly...
I would not put my name on these wheels
They look like they were painted from one side only!!!
(I noticed it before when I was cleaning them)
Now that I took them off I realize what a sh*tty job Enkei did painting them! If you look into your wheels you might notice white primer! Like I said I would not put my name on them.
One more thing, I spent hours cleaning some sort of black stuff (undercoating?) off the inside of the wheels. It was sprayed on and no it was not road tar.
Thanks in advance for the help
And thanks for letting me vent a little.

Understandable,Don't forget, you have a one year 12,000 miles against all adjustment, the oil filter is different on the evo v.s. the lancer.I would use 15W30,if you intend to be racing

Don't have the Evo filter # handy, but its definitely different. The Evo uses a short larger diameter filter, compared to the small diameter Lancer version. Tell the parts guy you need the tuna-can shaped one... heh
Or better yet, buy filters at the dealership, they are less than $5 each there. Save the receipt for it and the oil, document date and mileage of the oil change, keep in a file. If you ever have a warranty issue, you gots your defense.
