If the smell you're talking about reminds you of rotten eggs, than it's your clutch. You burnt it and it can take a couple days to reside.

As far as everything else is concerned, I'd bet that's just a placebo effect from your recent activity. More than likely nothing else is messed up--you're just noticing things that were there previously that you didn't pay attention to before.

Other than your clutch, you could have damaged the differential, but you would probably know without a doubt if you did that.

Good luck.

I had thought about this, and I really hope that is the case.

You burnt the hell out of your clutch. You should be able to still get a strong scent of it if you put your nose between the front left fender and the tire. The smell won't go away for about a week. Also your pedal feel might have changed a bit. Overall though you're probably being over sensitive about the feel of the car. I remember the first time I installed a boost controller, I was paranoid about every little noise the car made the first time I rode around in it.

got launch...?

Bad launch on EVO stock clutch = super slippage! & crappy burnt lining smell for about 3 days
+
freaked out you actually did something that stupid on a high performance car = car feels different while you drive it slow with your tail between your legs.

Don't worry...just look for leaks underneath, drive it like a normal car for a couple of days (like you probably are)...and listen, etc. You already look cool, u r in a EVO!

Search for how to properly launch an EVO...there are some good tips around.

Hint: never dump clutch..slip..get it rolling first then kick it (launch from slip point if you will call it that)...but that's probably what you've always been doing (do'in it right)

Do what you did on a 600-1000HP car and you usually get excitement, junk and disappointment all in the same second or two.

Peace!

Yea, I think the engagement point on the clutch is a bit higher.
