Boost Discrepancy Guage/EVC6

Boost Discrepancy Guage/EVC6
Im having boost reading discrepancies between my boost gauge and my EVC 6. Now before anyone starts bashing my EBC... it DID work fine and was controlling boost perfectly. Also... i never had an issue w/ it reading boost incorrectly. I still think it is reading correct, and now suspect the boost gauge.
Reasoning:
1) Boost (digital reading on the EVC) still works fine and hits target boost levels.
2) Boost Gauge is showing correctly against EVC's readings up until 12-14psi where then the gauge shows about 2 psi less than the EVC.
3) after 20psi... no matter how much i turn up my EVC it does NOT show more than 20psi.... BUT the EVC shows it climbing higher and my peak will show 24psi which is my target level.
4) This JUST started happening TODAY... the gauge used to read 24psi w/ my EVC and i havent changed any settings..
its WEIRD... to say the least... Im thinking that there might be a kink or leak in my boost gauge line and may possibly preventing it from seeing correct boost levels??
Anyone run into something like this?
again, i dont have issues w/ hitting target boost or maintaining (per EVC)... its the Gauge readings that all of the sudden are off??

I recently learned that my Autometer is reading 3psi LOW. It seems to have gotten lower reading as time went on (now a year and a half old). I would trust the EVC reading as it is from a map sensor.

hmm... interesting... It IS an autometer boost gauge. In fact the newer sport comp II version... It worked fine up until today though... so im not dismissing it yet... im thinking theremight be a kink or leak in the line? but it has been getting progressively worse as the day went on... The EVC has been consistent w/ its readings...

More I think about it, mine sounds very similar. It will go to 24psi and stop then tapers down as normal. I learned this on the dyno when the map showed over 27psi peak! lowered the boost a full psi to 26 by the end of the pulls and the gauge still peaks at 24.

It seems to me the innacuracy is on the fault of the mechanical boost gauge...I'll soon be installing an EVC6 as well but I run Defi BF electronic gauges...should serve as a good comparison point.

ok, that sounds like my problem too... ok, maybe it is the gauge. well, im going to check all the connections and lines as soon as i have time to tear it all apart...(i have the pod mounted on a steering column pod (a biotch to take apart)

ok... well, to those that have read my post and want an update... its the gauge. It has now progressively trickled down to 17psi max. So basically anything below 17 it reads accurately along w/ the EVC's digital read out. Then anything after that, the needle just shakes and doesnt go past. Previously it was happening at 20-19psi... The EVC is still reading 22psi and hitting target boost just fine. The car feels fine... and switching to another gauge also confirmed. So for now im using the EVC only to read boost. Im going to try and return it.... (good luck) Its 3 wks old! and the Autometer Sport Comp II mechanical gauge. I swore by autometer on my other cars... first time i've had one crap out on me. Next guage will be an electronic one for sure.
