i've driven my boss' car and that thing really is all motor. all weakass motor. you gotta scream it all the time for torque and power. you will miss the forced induction. that being said, it's nice for a lil' coupe. not for me though.

s2k is a beautiful car and it handles great.
looks way better than any evo

So happens a certain local 35R'd Evo 8 stomped a mudhole in it's *** (from a roll). It doesn't matter about the money put into it (well, after a certain point it does). It matters more about the choice of parts, tune and whatnot. I'm sure that same 600whp S2K would get stomped on by some other 600awhp Evo.
I know what you are saying. I was just speaking of experience of the s2k. can any car beat it , sure, but what i was saying is that you put 20k into the two cars with tune and choice parts you can't sleep on the honda. One thing I've learned is a honda does well on boost when done right.

The seats suck in the S2! Forget long trips. I drove my brother's for 2 hours, and I was pretty jacked up from it.

am i the only one here who really could care less about the torque?

you act like the s2000 is a damn b16 civic

it has enough torque and if you keep it in any decent RPM range or launch it high, it is plenty quick.

my 2001 S2000 only has a titanium exhaust, tune and a filter

it is 220whp and 2700lbs after gutting the trunk.

i chose the 2001, because it is MUCH more raw then the new s2000's

it is very comfortable for DD, and definetely out handles the evo.

the evo is easier to push to the limit, so is typically faster for a noob driver...

my S with just the exhaust and tune, is faster than a stock 2005 Evo 8 MR on the highway. especially in the higher speed range, 100+

and equal in the 1/4 mile. 13.2 at 104

just takes the right driver...

yes the evo is a beast, and i do miss that sometimes, but overall....no

what others think doesnt matter.

Drive a new S, drive a 2000-2002 S2000, and then drive an EVO and see what appeals to YOU!

my S2000 is only NA with minor mods and i adore it...

these cars are too different to compare IMO.

stock for stock, with expert driver, they are equal around a track. The S has a slight handling advantage, while the EVO has the ability to power out of corners better.

KEEP IN MIND THOUGH.... if you spent 3k in mods on both cars....

the evo would be 340whp, while the S2K would be 220whp...if your lucky

and the S2K is WAYYYYYY more pricy to mod.

s2k, either go NA and lots of weight reduction and suspension work

or

turbo/Supercharger

i'm a huge honda fan. I just rode in my buddies 2002 turbo s2k last night and that thing was a freakin blast! He made 310whp and 217wtq with stock engine and a t3/t4. my buddy was sliding around corners and made it look easy. I never felt like the car was going to spin out or anything. griped well and the thing scooted.

I must say tho....after he dropped me off, i thought in my head "AHHHH it's ok" haha SPEED wise. The fun factor was much much better than driving my evo but this thing was turbocharged. I think if you go for a s2k you're going to have to get used to the lack of power. Especially if you're just going for I/H/E. On the track the honda will def. out corner you but on the straights the thing is a pig. I have another buddy with a bolt on (I/H/E) s2k and that thing revs like a freakin crotch rocket. sounds amazing too.

final words...... IF YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN WITH THE CAR AND AREN'T JUST LOOKING FOR SPEED/POWER, GO FOR THE HONDA. and like some1 already said CHICKS DIG IT! haha

I've driven a friends S2k and loved it. I would own one if I didn't need practicality. It's more of a pure driving car and he gets WAY better gas mileage than I do. Even when he's romping on it, he still gets 22-24 and over 30 on the highway. If I'm romping on it, I get 12 I've barely broken 20 on the highway.

Anyways... since you do not need it to be practical, I'd go for the S2k. Hard to beat a relatively light weight, RWD, drop top. It does command more skill to drive quickly though.

To me, the S2000 feels like its made for very small asian people. The EVO feels like a caddy in comparison.

My 6 foot, 250lb American *** fits nicely in the EVO compared to my friends S2k's. I feel like a ball in a tiny, tiny nutsak when I get in them.

I miss my old S2000, liked it better than I have ever liked my Evo. Having said that, both cars are nice, just different. I got an Evo due to loving my brothers after I flipped the S on the highway missing a deer in the middle of the night. I was moving in with my girlfriend, had gotten an English Bulldog, so a four seater seemed to make the most sense at the time and still to this day for that matter.

Anyhow, here's my poor old girl after the wreck. One thing I can say for certain, I've no complaints with regards to the engineering on crash/flip/rollover impact on the S. Still somewhat shocked how well it held up all things considered some two plus years after the fact.

My friend just went STI to s2000. He drove in to flooded water and got into engine. Car was running crap and he didnt want to fix using warranty(due to mod)
so traded in for s2000. He said its way slow and slips alot.
btw s2000 is SMALL! I'm only 6' and i have to sit with seat all the way to the back and steering wheel still hits my knee.
