found out that carbon fiber can be really cold and heat up fast and crack also, like mine did and yes it was from seibon. wouldn't waxing help with the peeling and cracking of it in the sunlight??

i never understood all the people who who get CF hoods for Evos. I guess that's what you get for buying expensive cosmetic parts that usually provide no performance benefit, that you don't need to replace perfectly functional, lightweight, and already paid for stock aluminum hood. unless the hood is over $900, it cheap wet lay up CF anyway. you're paying for low end cf fabric and resin.

Im not refering to the clear coat of the CF....What im saying is when my friend got his seibon Cf hood on Jan 07 it was Black CF hood then... now it is a GRAYISH CF hood!
Fading all depends on the owner.
Most of the carbon fiber manufacturers have a uv attitive called a uv inhibitor. Most have this in the gel coat.
The sun destroys carbon fiber. The next time your parked in the sun, take a digi thermo meter and look how hot that surface is.
Carbon fiber can take the heat...it's the resins that break down, crack, get brittle.
If you want the most out of you carbon fiber parts....keep em out of the sun when ever possible, or buy a car cover.

x2, the stock hood weighs what...like 2-3 lbs heavier than a CF hood? just paint your hood black

This is why, when you get a CF part - HAVE IT RECLEARED AT A BODYSHOP.
I can't believe that this is news to people. Look at the 03's with the wings. It's because that **** sucks so much sun, and has so little UV protection. It's best if you reclear it with another automotive clear.
