cigarette lighter charger not working

I had the same problem it was the fuse

im bringing this back from the dead, i have this problem. my cigg lighter dont work ,i dont smoke i just need it to charge my phone and such, i checked every fuse and they're all good. WTF is wrong with it?

Theres a fuse panel undearneath the driverside dash. Forgot exactly where it is but its there. Most likely the fuse blew.

You have to remove the entire lighter assembly. There is a nut at the bottom and there will be what seems to be a burnt fuse. I believe this is a thermal fuse but very lightly rated since it goes so easily. i pried the four crimped connections ane replaced it with a radioshack thermal 10 amp 144 deg C thermal fuse, works like a charm now, but the radioshack fuse is kinda big and you have to do some creative bending to get it to fit.

There are several links on the forum to remove the panel and cig lighter.

yea i had to replace my whole assembly as well. not sure y but it did fix my issue and it still works properly. atleast they are cheap..

I believe the fuse layout is on the small pull out box on the side of the steering wheel. You have to get right down there to be able to see it though, should tell you what fuse you need to change, either way if you disconnect the battery and pull all the 15z out you should be able to find it.

i drive a 9 so the fuse box is under the hood, i checked all of them but thanks for the input. i'll look into takin the lighter out and checking that fuse. thanks guys.

u blew the fuse most likely its not that hard to do

+1 I bought my car in cali drove to indiana anyways the cig lighter didnt work when i got it therefore i made the 36hr drive with no radar nor gps lol

WHen my fuse blew, my radio would not work either.

Fuse #9 15A. Pull out change drawer ( by your left knee) fuses are behind it .
