Just got a 2006 Evo 9 that got tow by two wheel.... Help

Hi,

I just got a used 2006 EVO 9 that got tow from the front two wheels instead of a flat bed. I know that will be issue with either the transfer case or the transmission. Have anyone experience this and know the exact problem. I need to get it fix

Depending on how far it was towed, I think it would be safe to assume the transfer case and center differential have been both damaged or completely destroyed.

My friends EVO got towed by the front wheels and it destroyed the transfer case. Luckly we knew the service manager and he had extended warranty. It ended up costing him only his deductible. But with out that hook up it would have cost an arm and a leg.

If your Evo was two wheel towed, I'm pretty sure that your transfer case is gone. You can tell by when you get into your car, you smell tranny fluid. The smell is similar to propane. Also if you all of your ACD lights are lite, then the TC is gone.

You can do one of two things - get his nuts in a basket, or get his head on a plate.

+1 with previous posts - probably tore the TC to pieces.
