Engine Service light

I know this is a question that has tons of different answers, but I wanted to throw it out there. My IX has 9,xxx miles on it and the Service Engine Soon light came on last night..(yes my gas cap is on tight) and before I take it to get the OBD checked for the code at Mitsu, I was curious to know what the most common issues with low mile Evos with Engine check lights on was. From past knowledge with other cars, its usually just something minor like a loose O2 sensor or the common loose gas cap. What should I consider to expect?

(if it makes a difference, it has TBE, 25psi,intake,big front mount; as far as motor mods go)

Its your exhaust 98% sure of it, though an overboost code couldve happened at 25psi .. Dont take it to mistu.. I know some parts retailers (pep boys, napa, vip, auto zone, whatever you have) do checks for free.. And Id rather go out and buy one for $60 ish then pay mitsu way more than that and then void your warr. cuz of your mods..

yeah thats what Im guessing, maybe the o2 sensor is loose somehow. But who knows, I work at Chevy part time so I am just going to have them read the code, taking it to Mitsu would be a waste of time. (btw your sig made my day )

If you don't have a mechanical o2 fix then it will throw codes, I think is what he is saying. I doubt your o2 is loose. Do you have a mechanical CEL delete?

you need the 02 de-foulers installed.Do a search on it.Part is $4.99 at auto-zone/discount etc. Also I wouldnt be pushing 25 psi if I were you.Thats a tad overboard. Most people with bolt-ons only dont exceed 23 psi on pump gas.

Go to Autozone and either buy a reader for $80-$150 or have them pull it for you.

I got my SES fix from Gruppe-S for $13, SES hasn't come on yet with it installed. Is your TBE new? And I also agree with ImJoey, 25psi is way too high, turn that thing down to 22lbs.

also check your egr. its right below ur throttle body. there is a small vacuum line that will blow right off and dangle there causing SES lights. Happend to me... and i thought it was my test pipe, until i pulled the code at Autozone. EGR sensor.. sure enough the vacuum line was just hanging there. Apparently it is common... put it back on w a tie strap and no more SES... just a suggestion... right after that i checked 2 of my buddies that also had SES issues and same thing...
