Good luck on the Purchase...haven't driven a 335i, but I have both a 325i E46 and a EURO E36 M3...both cars are silky smooth as compared to the EVOs I drove. Had a clogged fuel filter in the 325i once, one day before it was going to the dealers for service (where the fuel filter is part of the service list).
I am in the market for an EVO 7/8 but I live in the Philippines...selling my S2000 now.
I know of a 335i here that was bought in the USA and imported here and had fuel system problems as well. It was sorted out and all seems fine now. I think BMW also retrofit oil coolers for that car too...I am not sure if this is a recall issue or an option one can get.

i think moving to a 335 wouldnt be a bad move. sure you might miss the evo at first, but im sure the bmw will fill in those shoes just fine. if you really want the awd, the coupe will be coming in a xi later this year/beginning of 08...

im in the same boat. been thinking of getting rid of my 05 evo for something else, but after every test drive (including the 335) i get back into my evo and want to slap myself for thinking of trading it in. there just isnt anything else that interests me, which sucks cause i want a new car. anyone got a suggestion?
in closing. i bet you would miss your evo, but the bmw has its benefits

cars
After having been through an 1991 MR2 Turbo and two civics with dropped in motors, I've learned not to get too attached to my cars. Don't get me wrong, they were all fast and fun to drive. But unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, failed smog inspections, marriage, kids, speeding tickets, etc.. force you to make decisions that will benefit you in the long run.

I traded my evo when I "thought" it was uncomfortable as a daily driver, with traffic and whatnot...
I got a Corvette C5 Z06, millenium yellow, absolutely beautiful car...
I went back 2 months later and bought my same exact evo back....
Are you permanent resident of Hawaii? or are you military?
