Back to the topic, specifically, which ones do you think sound bad. Yes, popcorn sounds bad to most ears, and of course "Ricey" is a bit subjective, but the point of the question is what in your opinion sounds bad - so far it seems that everything thats 3 inches sounds similar its just a matter of loud or not so loud... Any opinion you give is subjective, but afterall, I am asking for your opinions.

Great info, and I value all of your opinions - anyone here who has heard some specific exhausts in person knows more than I do

its at an angle because..thats the only way to create an exhaust with minmal bends(at the muffler)...stop throwing out misinformation

The kind with the LED's in them or the ones designed to shoot flames. Other than that, most exhausts for the Evo are great!

Idk, call me crazy but I think most evos sound pretty damn close to a typical 4 cylinder. Maybe a little bit deeper and raspier, but it still sounds like a 4 cylinder. Some people just don't find that very attractive. Don't get me wrong, I still love my evo.

But to answer your question I think the Tanabe exhaust does not sound all that great as compared to the others.

i have a RSR GTII its not as loud as some exhaust but sence i put my HFC and DP i has gotten pretty loud and deep any way

IMO the ones with the canister that sound raspy don't sound good to me. I've seen a few evos that had that raspy sound to them, but I couldn't tell you which exhaust they had. I like mine (of course). I have a Taipan, which was on the car when I bought it. I think it sounds great. It's not really noticeable with the windows up at cruise. But when you step on it you can definitely hear that shiz! It gets loud! Especially with the windows down driving next to the center barrier on the freeway. I swear it sounds like a crotch-rocket when I wind it up. I can't wait to put a test-pipe on there to see what that sounds like.
