Thinking about a new set up - Have ?'s.
Well, I'm thinking about going that next step but because this is my daily driver, I'm a little concerned about the driveability. Here's what I'm thinking of doing:
- BR Stg 3 2.3 shortblock
- BR Stg 3 head
- BR GT35R Turbo Kit
- SS 02 Housing (Wish I already had)
- HKS DLI 2 Ignition
- Bushwacker Trasmission (Cryo treating all components)
I have all the supporting mods including an AEM, 880 injectors, fuel pump etc..
With this set up, I'll be running alky injection with around 29-31psi.
Questions:
- What do you think the driveability will be? I have the Excedy twin disk (HD). I'm hoping this clutch will hold the power. I don't want to go to a triple disk.
- Spool? I'm going with the 2.3 to help with this but I know I'll lose some rpms.
- Do I still need to get the stage 3 head? With the 2.3, I'll probably be shifting at 7000 or so (Not sure exactly)
- Ignition - Any opinions or experience with the HKS Ignition?
- Am I missing anything? I have everything in BR's stage 1-4.
So what do you guys think? I'm really looking for a 500+whp daily driver that's still pretty driveable and not a high-use drag car. But, I know I'm losing a lot of high end rpms going with the stroker kit. Does it make sense to go this route based on my goal?
Thanks for everyone's input!
Mike

Well from the sound of what you are going to do your car will be pretty manly. You will probably end up with a very buff clutch leg!I used to drive around a fully built intergra type r with indivdual throttle bodies and it got old quick. But on the other hand, your car will pretty much eat almost every car on the road.

I daily drive my 497awhp AMS Evo... GT35r turbo kit, methanol, intake, exhaust, cams, fuel pump... ect. I would definitely* not get the HKS Ignition... it has a lot of problems (as i found out the hard way). Ivan from AMS had to help me figure out what went wrong with my car about a week ago... after many headaches for me, it was the HKS ignition system... and AMS no longer offers them because of all of the problems they have been experiencing.
