Expected Price Drop?

NORCO Mitsubishi has already marked up their Wicked White Evo(s) to MSRP because they are the last 2 NEW white Evo's in the country if that's any kind of indication as to what's going to happen. I think most of it will hinge on whether that new tranny will allow the car to be seriously modded. If not then the IX's may become very desirable.

I doubt there will be a significant drop. Was talking to the dealership today and the x's are going to be pricey....very pricey. Easy way to jack up a used evo to accomodate for the new increase. But it depends on supply and demand

So the $20,000 question is, would it be better to buy a used Evo now before the X comes out? Or wait until the X is here? I am starting to look at used Evos and want to get one sometime within a year or so. And not to turn this into a vs. debate, I'm also looking at STis. But the new one is sooo ugly that used STi prices will probably go up

I would buy a NEW one now for invoice or lower while you still have the chance, if you still have the chance. I would avoid any used Evo like the plague. If you have to buy used, then I'd get a used IX now instead of waiting for the X to release, because it will be out of the price range of most normal Evo owners, and the market will get saturated with Honda noobs who are trying to ****** up 20k used Evos.

I think the Eclipse 4g63 platform can be used as a good indicator here. The last years of the 4g63, held value for many years, and actually still does hold value very well. Lower mileage un-molested, or tastefully modded GSX's can run into the low teens, and pull the price easily. Of course they were followed by a crappy replacement.
