Expected Price Drop?

I've tried searching for similar threads with no avail. Do you guys think that when the EVO X will come out, that the price of the EVO VIII, IX, etc. will all drop significantly? I have seen a few VIII's go for around 16k as it is now, I can only imagine once an entire new body style comes out.
This is not a statement, more a question... How low do you think the resale will drop on VIII's once the X comes out?
I wouldnt be suprised to see some go for under 14k.. But who knows...
Your thoughts?

all depends on how well the evo 10 does
as for below 14k for a used evo - not for a few more years imo

I think it really depends on how the Evo X is received by the public as to whether there will be a sharp or modest price drop in the VIIIs and IXs. Either way the price will go down in the short term... If people keep wrecking their IXs ans VIIIs you can expect the prices to go up in the long run. Supra? Wishful thinking? That's just what I think, but who knows. guess we'll have to wait and see.

All depends if the EVO X sucks or not.... if it doesnt take well to mods then the EVO8-9 will prolly go up and hold decent value...

very true about if the X sucks and all, but Ive got a feeling that mitsu wont let it suck, i think they took alot of time rethinking the whole project and essentialy built the lancer down from the evo... like they designed the evox first, and then watered it down for the lancer line...
Hopefully it will go down as i'll be in the market next summer

Just always keep in mind that the VIII's & IX's will always have the 4g63 @ heart, cant say the same for the X....

IMO, the EVO will always be an expensive car. I dont think they will ever go under 10k until maybe like 2015 lol.

It's inevitable. I lost quite a bit of money when I sold my 2005 E46 M3; this was shortly after the E92 M3 was announced. I paid 57K for my car. A year later, all I got was 42K.

Cars are a depreciating asset, no matter how you slice it. Just the nature of the beast....

I think they need to just quit making the evo's, and then down the road they would be selling like the Supras and RX-7's.

late model turbo eclipse and talons are still selling for 10,000-13,000, the Evo will hold its value for a few more years.
