Question SES light on..why???

So yesterday afternoon i was driving down to a buddies house for a party, which was about a 25 minute drive from where i am at, after and after being there a while we decide to head to some of the local beach-side bars in the area. I start my car as usual with my autostart (compustar) and when I get in I notice the check engine light is on. I lifted the hood and looked around (typical guy thing to do i guess) and saw nothing, and she was making no odd noises or acting weird in any way. I said "ah hell, ill worry about it tomorrow" and went about my business. I have no idea where to look and cant go down to a shop or anything to have them check it out, at least for a few more days. I have an after market BOV (had it for about 2 and a half months with no issues what-so-ever, a K&N drop-in, and the alarm with auto-start. Any ideas fropm you guys what i might be looking at? I'd appreciate any help i can get

Thanks

Jer

FYI-make sure you put your gas cap on tight, that can make the MIL come on.

Mine did that to when i was stock you can try doing a full throttle pul into redline a little bit most of the time the light will most likely come on again but it will only be a pending code so you will have to hurry and get the code asap. Thats how mine was when I was stock. You don't have an atmospheric bov do you?

just got the p0300 code I have intake exhaust and a MBC. I have had this stuff on the whole time. My car has 13k on it. What causes the SES light to come on? Do I need to change plugs or something. Light turned off when I put gas in the car that same day it came on.
