Hitch/Trailer??? Low budget racer
Wanting to know if anyone else uses a hitch and VERY small trailer set up to get
excess stuff to the track like spare wheel/tire set, chairs, easy ups, tools, ECT....
i can't seem to find a bolt on hitch anywhere and probably for good reason.
but i would like to know if anyone else is using one scince im low budget (work a full time job) i can't afford a diesel truck and car trailer and all that jaz.
Any one using a "custom" hitch or anything like that?

Just take your back seat cushion out. It fits my wheels. And we also have a trunk to fit all the rest of the stuff. I carry my dj equipment all the time... turntable coffin, two 15" speaker cabinets, lights, amps, cd players, records, computer...

i really don't see any problem with making up or buying something to tow a couple hundred pounds around. hell i've seen a del-sol with a little trailer setup running around going to Summit.

AMS is the only of the Evo vendors to compete in one lap of America besides TopSpeed, and the only one I know that towed a trailer for thousands of miles.
I'm not nutswinging it's just fact.

Vishnu also used a mini trailer when they did the one lap with their Evo in 2003. Mini-trailers are pretty common in the track-day scene and alot of cars that "aren't supposed to tow a trailer" do just fine with a small, low weight tote. At one point in '03 there was someone here on the board that was making & selling a hitch just for our cars.

This is about all I could find for a hitch.
I would say a small trailer to haul a set of tires on occasionally would have no long term effects on the drivetrain. As its stated before, the car has plenty of torque and plenty of stopping power for a small load.
Something this size should be fine. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=42708

This is the only evo hitch I have found

I would be using it for a bike rack. BTW I love seeing cars with little race trailers!

I know this is a bit off topic, but it is still relevent. It was either Top Gear of Fifth Gear that showed an Evo towing a fifth wheel trailer. Granted they f'ed it up, but it was meant as a far extreme of towing. I'm sure towing a small trailer won't have lasting effects since you can drive the car with five adults in it. That's more weight than a small trailer.
