Wierd Noise HELP PLEASE
I've been noticing this wierd noise when i brake. it's not the pads. It's coming from the rear brakes and it's mechanical. when i back up and apply the brakes lightly i hear what i can only discrive as a shifting noise. You know like when you are tunning a guitar and tighting the cords the sound you get when they are really thight? somethin like that. Also when i come to an alomost complete stop say a bit of a 2-3mph roll i hear the noise too, like the calipers are shifting or something. I really dunno. Help ... Please

are your brake pads stock or aftermarket? there are some brake pads that the back is a mm or so small, so when you back up they will shift causing the "click" noise. this usually happens when the car has been sitting overnight, you get in the car and back out of the driveway. search "pads shifting" or "brakes shifting"

They are hawk pads. The sound is there all the time not just when i get in in the morning. I guess them being a mm smaller makes sence but i didn't notice them b4 maybe only bout a month ago it started.

I got the same problem on my evolution 7. The sound come from the front left brake. Even I gear off and apply brake, the sound will come like wired noise. when I apply more on brake, the sound will still come with louder. Please help and let me know what is the problem.
