WOW this thread is helping me a bit since I'm shopping for an EVO right now and there is a small consideration of a STi. I'm leaning more towards the EVO though. I had some time behind the wheel of my brothers STI and it is a fun car but not if you daily it. I found the STi gearing to be a bit anoying. The gears are to short for my taste. The interior looks like I need a scuba tank or hang out with smurffs. The stock suspension is hard. Unless you pay the price for a limited edition STi, thats about the only way you are getting leather seats and a quiter ride. I don't like the power band of the STi. it feels like it is all down low- mid RPM range, It runs out of breath pretty quick on the stock turbo. I also don't like how limited you are on rims/tires choices. The only thing I don't like about the EVO is that they don't have cruise control and the color of the cloth interior.

only things the STi has over the Evo...
1) exhaust note
2) exhaust note
3) exhaust note
i love my Evo, but sometimes i do wonder what it's like to be an STi owner instead. mine would be black on gold wheels. yes.

that's the only thing huh......lol
1. Camned Evo sounds better
2. All I've ever heard is the STi trannys suck and so does gearing
3. Who the f u ck needs a warranty, it's a tuner car.

Eh? You like the way the STI handles? It handles well, but not nearly as well as the Evo and the steering feel isn't close. I've driven my friends STI and it's nicer on the inside, the the extra displacement is nice for daily drivining, and the tranny feels better. But the Evo is certainly the better handling car.
