I've had a '68 Firebird w/400cid, a '63 Vette w/340hp 327, a 350 Vega (which I assembled in the driveway) and lots of lesser vehicles, foreign and domestic. My last car was a mid-12 sec. '91 Mustang LX (my first new car), and my wife now owns an LS-1 Firebird. I've always liked the idea of bang for the buck, and back in the day that pretty much meant muscle. No car I've owned has come close to the balance of power and handling of the Evo, although I sure miss some of them.

I use to own only muscle and made fun of imports!!! My favorite (and still wish I would not have sold it) was a 93 Cobra that had a turbo and a bunch of other things done to it 520whp and 600wtq, it was a monster on the streets!!! Still have a 66 mustang convertible. But have never owned anything that even comes close to the total package of the evo!!!!

i still have my v8. i saved it from a parts-car destiny. a lot of work.

if those hot rod die hards are giving you crap, just lie. say your dad died and you had to sell the japanese car to pay for the funeral. that shuts them up real quick. you can say the same thing to your landlord. it works brilliant.

I don't care for drag racing as I am more focused on being able to take 90 degree turns at 90 mph...something the WS6 could never do.
Are you my long lost twin?

Seriously though, you nailed it here. I had two Camaros, both LS1s, one with 432whp deep in the 11s and a stock 99 SS hardtop. No matter how fast I got the LS1 I still didn't feel like it was 'me.'

I borrowed a friends Evo twice for autocross and I couldn't believe what I've been missing out on. I love the LS1 tremendously, however this Evo is just plain sweet.

Cool Fast Old Bast$#d

Started with 1972 Monte Carlo with a BBC motor - this car was pretty beat up working through NE winters - It belonged to the fire chief in my home town - it was his emergency response vehicle - even came with the red lite on the dashboard.....from there I bought.........

69' Carmaro RS SBC
72' Chevelle SBC
75' Monte Carlo - this car really sucked
78' Monte Carlo - this car sucked even more!
86' Monte Carlo SS
87' Monte Carlo SS (86' SS was stolen)
88' Buick Grand National (87' SS was stolen)
88' Dodge Conquest TSI (sold the GN to get this?...what was I thinking)
92' Mitsu Eclipse (FWD - ughhhh)
96' Lexus ES 300
99' Lexus ES 300
04' Arcua MDX
........and finally.....my favorite car I have ever owned!

06' EVO IX MR - GG ...nothing satisfies like this car - nothing!

once I owned the Turbo GN, I was addicted to boost from that point on....what hooked me on Mitsu was my DSM TSI....so I was all V8 from the start - but once i discovered Turbo's - it was "over"

I know you guys have done the math.......I am a "fast old bastard" ....

They didn't make a 88 Buick Grand National, 87 was the last year.
