2005 Evos Free Maintenance - not being done?

2005 Evos Free Maintenance - brakes were NOT checked for wear!
Hi! I just took my Evo in after hearing grinding, which surprised me since the dealership told me not 2,000 miles ago I still had 6mm brake pad left on the front and 4mm on the rear!!!
Has anyone had issues with the dealerships not doing the maintenance, falsifying brake pad numbers (mine are listed on the invoices), not changing the oil? I wonder if this has to do with it being the "Free maintenace offer". Before I call corporate, is this a corparate decision?
Of course, they try to pass this off as my driving , as if in the last 2,000 miles it had changed from the previous 35,000!!! (I was expecting a brake change a while ago and believd the numbers on my invoices, I take it in every 5k miles!!) Thanks for any input. A

They've been doing all my maintenance, but I never would expect them to do wear items like brake pads under that program. I just get my oil and drivetrain fluid changes when scheduled, and they do all those other cursory checks as well.

No, you misunderstood!
It's not the wear items.
THEY DID NOT CHECK THE BRAKES AT ALL!!!!
When they said they did. The numbers on the invoices are falsified, they just copied old numbers from a previous check, god knows how many times.
Unfortuantely, I don't own a rack to put up my own car and check them myself. I trusted they were accurate. 2k miles ago, but a month only, they told me I had 6mm left, then yesterday I was metal-on-metal. They didn't change the oil, either, but I can't prove that.
Again my point is - aren't they supposed to be CHECKING the brake pads for wear, and tell you need breaks? They told me last time I was in, 2k miles ago, I did NOT NOT NOT need brakes when I specifically asked the Service Manager about it.
OF COURSE, you pay for the brakes, but is it now de riguer to lie about having checked them? Yesterday I heard metal scraping, when I am going in every 5k just to prevent that? I could have been killed in an accident! I took it in right when I heard it yesterday - they cannot explain why in 35,000 miles of travel, the brake pads "magically" lost over 3/4 of their thickness in the last 2k, the last month - no, I have not moved nor changed my driving habits.
So I should expect them to lie about it? In other words, they take the car back, wash it off evry 5k for me, that is my "free maintenance"? They did not replace the air filter at 30k either, I did it.

Read the post more carefully
At least on a BMW, you might expect they do more than wash your car for you when you get maintenance done.

i understand where your at. i say you talk to your service manager about it. and if he doesnt do anything , i'd say talk to corporate and go to another dealership.
tell corporate and jdpower surveys about how ****ty they are doing. they would hate that, trust me

I don't know why you'd only be getting a car wash and not an air filter change at 30k. They should be changing the oil and oil filter every time, rotating the tires, and then at 30k, it's a full drivetrain fluid change.
I don't know about them checking the brakes. They've never said anything to me, and I've never asked. I handle my own brakes, but of course they shouldn't have said the brakes were fine if they really weren't (or if they didn't really check).

incorrect
mistu performs 27 point inspection on ALL car that go in for service.
also on the 30 k they shoud have drained and filled ALL fluids including coolant (excluding power steering, brake fluid) replaced driver belt cabin filter and air filter rotate tires.. i will post the items later. I know all this because we have gotten into many arguements with our dpsm district parts and service manager.

I don't get why people here are saying to go buy a bmw if the dealership said they check it and they really had not I would be pissed as well. I try to avoid dealerships Unless it's the last option.

i've had issues with the dealership not performing scheduled maintenance as required when I bought my car. Almost everytime I went in for an oil change they never rotated the tires. They didn't even check the pressure. I know this because I kept logs of the pressure on each corner and when I went in and also left two valve stem caps off of the rear tires so I would visually be able to see if they were moved. Almost everytime I would get the car back the rear tires would have no valve stem caps and the pressure would be the same #'s I recorded before dropping it off. (32F & 34R)
I last time I brought my car in for service, over 2 years ago, they tried to be slick and just moved the valve stem caps from the front to the back in order for me to 'think' they rotated the tires. Lucky for me they didn't wash the car that day and I could still see the mark I made in brake dust on my front wheel. Thankfully that was my last scheduled maintenace, needless to say I never went back to that dealer afterwards.
funny thing about the tire rotation was that the tech never used a torque stick when he would do it so I got 2 free sets of rear rotors/pads & 1 free set of fronts w/pads under warranty because they warped them.
After I started doing my own oil changes and rotation of tires using a torque wrench I haven't had an issue with warped rotors in over 50k miles.
