Titanium oxidized...how should I clean?

I lost fitting to keep my silencer in my muffler and when I brought it to a shop for other work I asked them to find a small bolt to fix it in. Well...it looks like they didn't use stainless stell fittings so my titanium muffler is oxidized around the bold on the inside lip of my muffler...what should I use to clean it?

Ti does not oxidize that easily... It is considered in any industries to be the rust proof element, closing to oxidization resistance of platinum it is most likely that the rust from that bolt is getting all over the Ti tip. So just clean it with whatever you would normal rust. You can try very hard to get Ti to rust but unless you ahve something like hydrofluoric acid, its not going to happen. Ti forms protective films around itself and expands as time goes, which is one of hte reasons why its almost impossible to make it rust
