LICP keeps blowing off

well i have had my ETS intercooler piping for about a month or so and for some reason the LICP keeps blowing off. i havent upped the boost at all and i cant figure out why. using the T-bolt clamps that came with the kit. yesterday on my way home the pipe acutally blew OFF the car and i ran it over...luckly i had my stock intercooler pipping still in the trunk...im pretty upset, spending a decent chunk of change on a good product but it wont stay on, and now its completly ruined...

Maybee some oil blowby in the turbo seals. It collects in the LICP/intercooler. Try cleaning the outside of the nipple, inside of the coupling w/ brake cleaner. let dry get some of the wifeys hairspray, spray in coupling, use T bolts, let dry. it should do the trick.

just sounds like your not tighten the Tbolt clamps enough. Did you by chance get some grease or something else inside the couplings? That happened to be when i put my licp on, i couldn't get 1 of the sides of the licp into the coupling so i put a little grease on it, which was stupid because even though i tightened the sh*t out of it, it blew off first time i drove the car. I had to take it back off and and clean the coupling out and put it all back on, no problem since then.

Two Q's
1) How did the LICP come off of the compressor outlet pipe?
2) How did it make it past the undertray?

Yea nice AMS bracket. Too many fasteners to tighten for me though.

Im guessing you either tightened your tbolts too much and crimped the aluminum, or didnt tighten it enough. They should not be coming off with tbolts.

Could always go with the Nisei LICP with the bracket - http://www.motiongarage.com/store/pr...roducts_id=491

I plan on doing that LICP along with the ETS stock battery UICP kit.

That's the LICP i have and i love it, Never blew off..when putting them on also use some Hair spray on the inside of the couplings then put it on..Also dont put it on and go let me try this out and get on it..Let the car warm up then go around and drive normal for a bit..this will heat it up and you shouldnt have any problems then..

It shouldn't blow off with t-bolt clamps. Installer error.

I've run close to 30psi of boost. No problems.

My guess is the t-clamp isnt tight enough and it is behind the bead on the edge. When you tighten feel for the bead buldging through. Chain of order:

bead, immediatly after that is the clamp. If its steel dont be a affraid to tighten up. If its stripped you can get another nut at lows.
