Garrett .50 Trim with .63 a/r = 700 (from AGP before the slight increase in turbo prices which now costs 850)
Exhaust manifold = 200
o2 housing w/ recirculating dump = 200
Tial waste gate = 250
All the oil lines, plugs gasket wires, accessories etc.. = 100.00
Pressure pipe w/ external blow off valve = 250

Total came out to be 1600-1700 . And before any one jumps in about quality, they were all proven quality parts from reputable vendors. No ebay crap there.

Note* the 50 trim was not a dual ball bearing, but for the price you paid for yours I hope you got a dual ball bearing turbo with both water and oil cooled.

I guess the Evo is an expensive car to do anything with.

I'm not sure how much fuel the stock injectors and fuel system can support on the EVO, but make sure you have a wideband and enough fuel to support the amount of air the .50 trim will be pushing. Good luck.
Well, if you want to do it that way. I can get the following if I wanted to be cheap about it and use quality parts still. I wanted to be sure I had the best parts for my evo. I could of done this instead:

Rev Hard manifold $200
tial 38 mm wastegate = $200
50 trim Journal bearing = $600-700
Fittings and hoses $100

So about the same price as your SRT. but since I never half *** (not that you did) anything. I wanted to build something I can build upon. I can easily put a 35R on the car to upgrade and not worry about anything. If I got the Rev hard mani and 38mm wastegate along with cheaper hose and fittings, I would have a lot to worry about if I wanted to upgrade to a 35R.
For the cost I listed for my turbo, YES, It is BB and Water and Oil cooled! Thanks for chiming in though.

i for one argee one the threadstarter on making your own turbo kit, i know damn sure your saving a good amount of money, instead of the extra 3 grand or so you can save that for something else. i plan on doing a bigger turbo possibly making or buying a kit, but from my knowledge of looking at AMS, buschur and so forth their kits are damn expensive i know someone will say oh its the quality true, but you can still piece quality parts on your own and have a just as good kit for less money. please do keep us informed on your status

Hey Donmeca2020,

Thanks for the support. I encourage you to build a kit yourself as it is not as difficult as people think. You just need to do your homework is all. AMS, Buschur, RRE, SpeedElement all make excellent kits and don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind buying one of those kits, but I wanted to challenge myself and I wanted to specifically do certain things "My way" so that I know it was done to my liking. I could of done this with any Exhaust Manifold, but the Hafe was one of the most affordable and it looked like it would work as I have seen other 50 trim ball bearing turbos get about 400HP+ on 100 octane. and then if that wasn't enough I can upgrade by just changing out the turbo.

The oil filter is cheap insurance. Why risk your expensive turbo with oil that already thrashed through the head and the rest of the motor. It may add additional expense but it is the right way to do it.
