That car has like $6000 in turbo upgrade though, the EVO was running with Ultimate Racing stage 1+ (if I'm not mistaken).

I expected the gti to win....it is stage III plus it is much lighter than the evo

man this video is really getting around!! i've heard it's on subie boards too (naturally)... the internet is a wonderful thing! that's a long time ago now!

that was me when i had just gotten an apexi safc and a mbc installed.. not tuned well even...

of course he was going to beat me.. i thought it'd be more of a margin actually! i told him before the race that he would (he knew he would too), but he kept begging me for it... i did it for him, so he could look good in a video after investing his 401k in a turbo kit.. his FWD 300+fwhp (on race gas) car is way lighter than my AWD evo with less hp (even when converted to FWD).. so naturally he should win a highway run...

we're gonna do more races soon though.. and we're gonna do it from different speeds then.. we didnt have time for more than those few races.. (btw, the first race in this video i missed the gear completely, which is pretty obvious.. and the second one was in a hard curve with him on the inside) and i'll have way more mods next time.. (cams, ams fmic, 3" O2 housing, 3" downpipe, test pipe, catback and dyno tuning)... so he'll see my *** that time for sure! just wait! ...like this corvette did recently (only mod was catback and race gas compared to the stg3 gti race): http://www.renn-art.com/renn-art.com...0Corvette.mpeg

it'll be fun to see how quickly those future clips will spread!

 

just for reference the stage 3 kit is from APR and retailed for $3999----new everything, if you looked under the hood you wouldn't be able to tell it was pushing 290+ HP.....check out goapr.com.......the price JUST went up due to mysterious circumstances.........if you add labor maybe it'll hit 6K....ok I'm full of **** and drinking heavily so cheers! I'd rather have an EVO though, tell ya dat right naaaa, tell ya dat right naaa!

 

bah! u try and get the apr stg3 out the door for 4grand!!! good luck to ya!! that's the very very minimum package!.. not with the extra costs of the race gas programs.. etc etc...
