Manual Transaxle Bolt
Today i was going to change my Driveline Fluids and I noticed that the drain and fill plug for the Transaxle are not the 17mm & 24mm bolts (as was explained in the HOW-TO write up). I did some searching and couldn't find anything that talked about this. It looks like a large Allen wrench Type bolt. Do the Evo 9's differ from the Evo 8's? Or am I just looking at the wrong bolt?
These pictures were taken from the position of the front drivers side wheel. The Drain plug should be right below the axle right? With the fill plug about a foot closer to the front and about 6-8" higher?

I've looked over everything, and the only 24mm flat bolt i can find is on the transfer case. Where should I be looking to find it? The area under the battery below the axle right?

Allright, i give up. I searched EVERYWHERE and I can't find either the fill or drain plug. It HAS to be the Allen-Type bolt. And of course I don't have that size allen wrench. That's weird if it turns out that's where it is and the just put in a different type bolt.
And I did check the evomoto.com web site and it still wasn't any help. Oh well. I'll figure something out or just get an allen wrench that size. Thanks anyways guys!

Hey I really appreciate your help! Although i guess i should have said that I have those diagrams already. That's why i'm positive that i'm looking in the right spots. I'm just going to stop into Mitsubishi tomorrow, see what they have to say. Thanks anyways though
ALSO, the transmission drain/fill locations are different in the two pictures. Ones for the 5 speed, and the other is for the six speed (MR, which is what i have). If you look close, it looks like they are infact allen type bolts and not the 17 & 24mm bolts.

Ok, so I went to Mitsubishi to ask em about the bolt size/type and the only thing he could show me was a picture of the bolt (pretty much the same one as above). He couldn't give me any sizing info or type of bolt. He also said he wouldn't know where to find the sizing of the bolt and recommended just guessing. So it pretty much was a waste of time.
So if ANYONE knows what the sizing and type of bolt this is, please let me know so I can get the right tools (i don't want to buy a bunch of sizes). And this bolt is different from the 5 speeds... so this is for those with the six speed MR. ('05 may differ from the '06) Thanks for your help!!!

On the MR's you will have to use a 10mm allen wrench socket. What you have in the picture is indeed one of the drain/fill plugs. For all 5spd's they are the same, just the 6speeds need the 10mm allen wrench socket. Good luck.
