I need to change my fluids and I know this has been covered a bunch of times but I just want to make absolutely sure I've got this right before I spend my $$$.
The tranny takes 3 qts of Redline MT90
The transfer case takes .63 qts of Diaqueen oil
The rear diff takes .58 qts of Diaqueen oil (no lsd additive needed?)
This is all going in an '05 so I've got the ACD. I shouldn't have to change the ACD fluid cause I've only got 40k on the car... correct? Thanks in advance

Plan to do it myself. I was nervous about it at first but it looks like there are lots of good write-ups on here. Plus dealerships want too much.

Reason I ask is that there is a catch to doing the TC fluid change. Fill the TC to where it drips back out the fill hole, then rotate the front wheels and then add a bit more oil. This way it'll take the complete factory specified amount. If you don't rotate the wheels then it'll show full but actually it'll be about an 1/8 of a QT. short.

Yea its really quite easy. I used BG synchroshift though as i had the redline shock proof in my 240sx tranny and it was too tough to shift into 1st when it was cold. Good stuff though. With stood over 60 plus drifting runs... 40 done by a formula D/D1 seated professional drifter who needed to use my car to practice .

Hey Sweeeeet! My other car is an sr swapped s13! Just out of curiosity, what did you put in your 240 tranny if the redline made it too hard to shift? Oh and to clear any confusion up, I'm not a girl! LOL The Evo is actually my wife's car so I originally joined evoM thinking that it would get her interested in the mechanical beauty of the car. Well... she likes driving it, but the maintenance is my problem. HAHA

i use Motul 90 PA for the rear limited slip differential

and recommend using Redline Heavy Shockproof for the TC
(which really takes off the stess of even daily driving)


as for the ACD fluid - just check its level

Just an FYI... Daiqueen is a generic term. It comes in different weights, depending on what your using it for. Both your front and rear differentials get the Mitsubishi Daiqueen LSD Oil (SAE 90W see below). Don't substitute.

When do you change those fluids? I changed my trans fluid at 1k miles
now i have 10k miles.
do i have to change transfer case and rear diff ?

Manual states to change every 30k miles, but I would recommend doing it earlier. Personally, I change the fluids every 10k.

Sorry, I am an EVO newb...and I am a bit confused...(my car has ACD):

I though the Transfer Case is the Center Differential? This is how clueless I am...haha! So there is:

1) Tranny
2) Transfer Case
3) Center Diff (ACD)
4) Rear Diff

Does this make sense?

I though it was only Tranny, Transfer Case and Rear Diff...cars with ACD just have a more complicated Transfer Case...

Regarding Oil changes... see below. FYI... the ACD is seperate from the front differential.

1) Engine Oil = High Quality Synthetic Oil like Mobil 1 (SAE 10-30)

2) Transmission 5 speed = Redline MT90 (SAE 75-90W) or 6 Speed = Mitsubishi Daiqueen Super Multi-Gear (SAE 75-85W)

3) ACD = Automatic Transmission Fluid (Dealer item only since it involves special tools to flush and replace fluid)

4) Front Differential (Mitsubishi Daiqueen LSD SAE 90W)

5) Rear Differential (Mitsubishi Daiqueen LSD SAE 90W)

I change the engine oil every 3k-5k miles, and the Transmission and Differentials every 20k (daily driving). Or after every HPDE (high performance driving event)

By transaxle you mean transmission right? Wanted to find out if the ACD is inside the Transfer Case or outside of the transfer case? Sorry, I am a newb and got an EVO 7 with ACD, and I am about to do the entire fluid change as well, as I want to take this car to the track! Thanks for your help....

2) Yes the ACD is separate from the front differential and requires different fluids.
