Between the two mentioned, go with AMS, especially because they have a great deal going on with the LIP combo AND it's a great intercooler.

Exactly. F*** Turbo XS. They don't support their products at all.

I have their entire Intercooler and piping kit. It is very nice for sure, but you will have to pay a bit for it. If you are trying to get a great deal on a quality kit with the UIP/mini battery combo, the best deal you will get is probably with ETS. I know they make some great stuff. I like AMS, so I paid the extra money to get their products. I would leave Turbo XS out of the equation solely because you are looking for more than an intercooler.

It's tough to determine the intercooler thickness by your pics, but it looks like you're still running a stock(ish) turbo. What size AMS intercooler did you go with and how was spool affected?

Turbo XS intercooler on my IX

perfect fitment even with the crash-bar and minor trimming of the undertray...

Best intercooler for the buck and performs excellent! on my various logs before and after the intercooler i noticed a 15-20 degree lower intake temps and the temp drops much faster than the stock unit...

I combined it with Nisei piping kit...

...which is currently heat wrapped...

TURBO XS owner here. The intercooler works great, no problems here, not that you can have much problems with an intercooler besides it leaking from a faulty weld. In the end, good luck with your decision, i'm sure AMS's intercooler is great.

if you'll sleep better knowing you have the ams fmic, then get it. the +100 bucks isnt worth the headache/worry.

however, i have the turbo xs fmic. it work good, no lag gain, boost hitds harder & the incoming charge into the engine is a lot cooer than my oem unit, measured/logged via aem. i really like the end tanks...

however the turbo xs inlet/outlet i.d. is ~2.250".............

search titles "turbo xs" & look for a thread written by me if you care for some decent data & power gain calculations.
