20G Question

Although externally the 20G-LT resembles the factory IX turbo, both the compressor housing and the turbine housing require extensive machining to accomodate the larger wheels.
If you want a 20G-LT, just buy a IX turbo and send it in to FP and wait your turn. You can in fact, utilize the stock IX wastegate on the 20G-LT though. Maybe you could save a bit there.
Alternately, you could have your '03 turbo converted to factory IX turbo specs though by swapping out the VIII compressor housing and your old 9.8 cm turbine housing for the IX compressor housing and a 10.5 cm turbine housing. This would be within the realm of the possible. Just send it off to Blouche Turbos.

Factory IX turbo's spin about 30k rpm's faster than an VIII's , I don't care what housing you swapp on it.
Search for "turbo flow rates" In that thread you can actually see the IX's yurbo has a larger comp housing.

Huh? So? What are you referencing anyway? Where did you glean the 30,000 RPM tidbit from? Are we talking USDM IX vs. USDM VIII turbos? No one is gonna argue that a IX 16G turbo doesn't outflow an VIII 16G. So, what is your point?

What would you say if I told you that yes, in fact it is doable? And that, furthermore it is, at least as far as I know a relatively simple conversion. Blouche can do it with his eyes shut.
To further pique your incredulity, you also can reconfigure a IX turbo back into being an VIII turbo. Although, I don't know why anyone would want to make that conversion. But, it can be done.
The 30,000 RPM difference, however, is a wickedly misleading bit of misinformation which can only exist in your imagination as it is totally unsubstantiated and defies corroborant foundation.

It does not matter what I am capable of making to accomodate the 20g turbo. I am merely just asking if you are able to buy the 20g. Just the turbo not the rest. thats it. Not a matter of trying to find a cheap way around it. Just if i do not need it then why buy? Just asking. Don't need to get all crazy with me. Thank you to who actually giving me decent input.
