AEM air filter rubbing

The 5" cone is rubbing like a ****, besides getting a smaller filter has anyone done anything that made it fit? I have reinstalled it twice, and cannot find a way to make it fit properly... It rubs on the hood ..
???

Try calling AEM and maybe they may have a solution to your problem.

It rubbs, and it rubbs. Nothing can be done. I think newer AEM cai's have reconciled the issue. I had to take out my "filter plate" for UICP fittment, noe it doesn't rubb. My hood misses the attention. My filter is trashed, but still works.

I had that problem.

If your bottom bolt doesn't align correctly with the rubber stopper on the bottom. Then that intake was made for 03-04. Its different because 03-04 had the intercooler sprayer reservoir at that place. 05 didn't have it.

My filter was giving me problems too, so I sold the whole intake. Now I have one thats made for the 05s and no such problems.

Just to make sure, are you quite positive that it is installed correctly? My AEM intake never rubbed on the hood, it actually sat quite low.
