advice needed from my fellow evo owners
Alright guys my fiance and I are moving form massachusetts to north carolina in the beginning of november. I made a career change and thats where it led me. Now my problems are as follows, i really don't want to go down there carring my hefty car payment. I love my evo so much and it really is my pride and joy but the money that it would free up could afford us a lot more. My car is pretty modded if i part it i could probally get anywhere to 4-5k for the parts. My question is do I part it and sell the car cheap for a quick sale or do i try and sell it modded for a little first and if i get no bites then part it. This sucks for me guys and I figured you guys could point me in the right direction.
thanks
chris

i would part it out, think from the buyer's perspective would you want a modded evo? probably not because it means that it might have been abused. Also you will never get as much as you want so recoupe some of the money by parting out first.

Trust me i would love to keep this car, I bought it cone stock just 10 months ago, and i love it, but financially it just doesn't make any sence and like it was stated, I will deffiently own another one, hopefully an rs and just make it a monster This is by far the most fun car i have ever owned, and i will miss it very much.

My vote is to return it to stock and individually sell off the mods. I know a STi-turned-Evo guy who did just that with his '05 STi. He didn't lose anywhere near as much had he sold it as is. The majority of buyers want to buy a stock car and build it their way, from ground up. Good luck.

stock the car out and at the least save some parts for the next one. but sometimes you can sell a modded car for a ****load, just gotta run into the right person.
where in NC are you moving too.

This may be a stupid question, but does it snow in Mass? I thought it did, but i know it does in some places in NC. My point is is that the prices of AWD cars can go up where its a necessity. I just moved to Reno, NV and it snows a good bit here and i knew the prices would be more out here for em. Thats why i bought it while i was still in GA and towed it out here with me. Just a thought and my experiences out here. Also it seems that parting it out would get you the most money. Good luck and sorry you have to sell her.
