I just installed a autometer boost gauge and I think my boost is too low. Its reading max is 14 PSI with the vacumn at 20 PSI is this normal?

1. what are your mods
2. where are you getting your reference from?
3. is it spiking to 14...or tapering to 14?

i hope your vac isn't at 20 PSI!!!! If vac is in the positive you have a serious problem!! I think you didn't mean that but still sounded funny to me.

do you have a boost controller? If so, they don't come preset at a higher psi setting for safety reasons. Mod list is a must when having this issue.

I have a 03 Evo with HKS turbo timer, intake, exhaust dump, HKS BOV which i heard is the worst. And I just installed the autometer boost gauge. The vacumn is at -20, and when i hit the gas it tops off at about 14. Needle sits at zero.

I'm sure the previous owner removed the boost controller and didn't reinstall the stock boost lines. Your probably seeing wastegate pressure which is 12psi. Try a MBC or get the stock boost lines.

try taking off the bov and putting the stock one back in to test the difference. Also most importantly...does the car feel fast? You should be able to determine whether it's the gauge or if you have boost leak.

I just installed my oem BOV and i noticed a T-fitting on one of WGA lines. I think your right and the previous owner had a MBC. Just got done building a Boost leak tester. Gonna test tomorrow. There is definitely something wrong with my car. The stealership rebuilt my transmission, they had it for two and a half months before they fixed it supposedly. Car never felt the same after that. Im gonna try to replace the WGA lines with stock ones.
