Whoa whoa whoa...

I thought you said your Evo was "Tottaled"... yes, that's the title... if your Evo is a total loss. Why are they talking about 2 scratched rims?

besides, the point of insurance repair work is the return the vehicle to the condition as before the accident. If you had repaired rims on before the accident, then have them repaired... if they were in excellent conditions, demand them to be replaced.

so... was your Evo totaled? or is it repairable?

OK, if it is repairable. spend a day this week and drive around to lots of body shops. See what kind of cars are in their shop, ask to take a tour of the shops. Look for shops that do repair work for the dealerships, look for I-CAR certification, and tell them that you do not want ANYTHING refurbished... and that you require Mitsubishi Genuine parts.

You have the right to take your car to any shop you desire.

As for your wheels if you have a lateral bend to the wheel (side impact), then I would not repair the rim. If there are only scratches. l your insurance if the finish is off even a bit from the other rims, that you will demand them to replace the rim.

Man, sorry about your EVO. I too have had some bad luck with mine, luckily insurance has taken care of it so far.

If you are able to get covered on it, I would check to see how much it would cost to buy back the EVO, if it's cheap enough sell the parts off and you might be able to come out ok on it.

GL on it.

wtf... so now you are going to have $10k in repair to an evo which was in perfect condition before some d***head crashed into it. That is so lame. I would try to fight as much as possible for a total loss given the circumstances.

Yeah, that is FAR from being totaled.

any body shop should be able to repair that. However find the best shop you can, and have your car go there.

That's alot less than 10K in damage it's all superficial (sheet metal) damage.. Find the best shop, have them take care of it, and you will be golden. there is no reason to total that car. and your insurance will NOT total that car. The only advice I can give you is once you find the shop, be very friendly with them, and they will take care of you.

I have a shop in AZ that does all my repair work. they mostly work on Porche's BMWs, and the like. They take care of me because I bring them lots of business through word of mouth.
