IX Maintenance schedule

What is the maintenance schedule? I have seen people post out of the manual, then other people say it's wrong.. and I didn't come across anything real concrete when searching. I just want to be sure.

I know when to change my oil..

I am more looking for when to change the front and rear diff fluid, tranny fluid, transfer case fluid, etc.

Thanks!

*edit* found it in the service manual.. I'm going to go off what it says in here. Nice detailed 2 page chart. Everyone been going by this?

According to Mitsu...
Every 5K: Oil, Filter, Rotate Tires
Every 30K: Transmission, Transfer Case, Coolant, Center Diff, Rear Diff, Drive Belts
Every 60K: Spark Plugs, Timing Belt

In my opinion, the tranny fluid should be every 10k mi, oil every 2500mi, plugs & timing belt every 20k mi

Timing belt every 20k? Why would you need to do that so often? I am not challenging your opinion just wondering why.

Then we're all glad that you're opinion is wrong. You must like wasting money.

Tranny should make it to 30k with easy driving, I started getting a 5th gear grind and I don't track or launch the car so I'm changing it out at 17k.

Find people who have changed tranny fluid @ 10k and get their opinion... they will tell you that there was enough metal in the fluid to warrant doing the change, plus it feels noticeably better afterwards.

Maybe some of you want to beat the $hit of your cars and only do maintenance when you absolutely have to, but I take care of my car, and it's worth the little bit extra to do everything sooner than the manual calls.

Super Diaqueen OEM Mitsu fluid. It's $80 for a jug, and is good for at LEAST 2 changes.

you should be able to change the fluids in your garage ... the plugs should all be large allen bolts.

Take these precautions:
- Make sure the car is as level as possible. The ensures proper draining and filling.
- Get a hand pump for the fluid. You have to fill the fluids from the side and you will not easily be able to pour them. With a pump you can fill from 90º.
- If you don't use OE fluids, be sure that the replacement fluids are correctly rated for the application. For instance, the 6-speed transmission used GL4 fluid ... use only GL4 rated replacement fluid, even if the weight is the same.
