WTF is up with mitsubishi paint!?!?
So I bought my IX last july and in the last couple of months I started to notice this "fading" of some sort. Took it to the dealer and they said they had to take pics but that it looked like overspray, when the car has never been to a bodyshop and that the paint in some areas looked "burnt", whatever the hell that means. I tried clay baring it today to no avail, the car feels alot smoother but those white spots are still there. I've attached some pics maybe someone can shed some light on this for me............
This is the Rear driver's side doorjam, hard to really get a good shot. I know it's up close but you can kinda of make out the faded area and the good area

and shouldn't a clay bar theoretically help take the overspray off? could you elaborate a little more on the "orange peel" thing and does my car really just need to get repainted at this point??

I'm def going for a carbon hood I mean my hood has so many white spots it's disgusting, but I'd like to keep my stock front bumper, and it's far from pristine at this point.

It's a sad fact of life that if you ride em, you wreck em.
Take comfort in the fact that no one (save a HIN judge) will criticize you for a few unavoidable nicks...especially not fellow Evo owners.

I doubt they are going to warranty it, blame my mods or some BS about achieving supersonic speeds and making the paint fade. In the market for a IX front bumper now so who's got one!?!?
