Power Steering Pump??

I have been having some issue's with my power steering pump squealing @ lower RPM and feeling under powered... Anyone else had this issue? If so what was the solution. This is a 2003 with 86k miles..... I'm going to assume that the pump itself is going bad but maybe someone else has had this issue....

Do you have larger rims on the car?I used to have a G35 coupe with 19's on it and the p/s pump would squeal on it quite often.

You are looking at $596 (list $782) for a new pump from Mitsubishi. Have you tried flushing the system and putting in some fresh fluid?

You might also want to try out a new serp belt & tensioner before replacing the pump. The PS pump is driven off the serp belt & IIRC that tensioner uses a non-adjustable spring to hold tension. If the spring has gotten weak your belt could start to squeal.

Oh - I assume you have checked the PS fluid level...

yes i have checked the fluid and its fine but the belt doesnt actually squeal its the pump itself. Its no issue if i just add some rpm by blipping the throttle it steers fine. Also no its stock wheels... I think i may try to do a flush soon and put new fluid in
