Pissed against dealer
The facts:
- I had a death whine with my T-Case.
- Shep rebuilt it.
- Dealer installed the new TC 10 days ago.
- Since then some rattle noise I've never heard about before occurs.
So I start investigasting. My friends did not mention anything and told me I was crazy about my car; I hear noise everywhere which does not exist. I drove the car like this for 10 days.
I started disassembling everything I can inside the car today to locate the noise with no luck. It was coming from the e-brake area.
When I parked the car today I was able to hear some *clunk* *clunk* noise every 2-3 yards. it seemed to come from the transmission so I lifted the car and this is what I found
The remaining nuts hold the brackets with one thread and some torque applied via the shaft weight.
The brackets to hold the shaft missed bolts and bolts are not tightened anymore. The shaft is in the air with nothing to hold it!!!
The dealer obviously did not torque the bolts properly (noise was there right at the exit of the dealer).
What do you guys advice????
NO WAY, I'll pay for a new TC if this destroyed anything!!!! (bend the pinions, destroy the o-ring which seals the TC for fluid)
So far, I was breaking the TC in, so I was driving my car nicely, some boost but always in straight line.
I haven't noticed any leaks on the TC.
The car is fine now and so far no apparent damage...
I will prepare a list of every parts which may fail in the future because of this mistake and ask Mitsu dealer to warranty those for like 10,000 miles.
Parts I'm thinking about are:
- T-Case
- Shaft
- Rear Diff
- brackets & Bearings
- Rubber joints
AAAaaaahhhh!!!! I'm pissed against Mitsu dealer!!! (who is usually very nice and helpful)

I don't know if I should fix the car. This is my only car.
I'm hesitating to touch anything or let them pick up the car and pay for everything but it would be a big hassle for the weekend.

That's exactly the reason why I've invested in an assortment of good tools, pneumatic and hand both. Especially in my area, I don't trust anyone to work on my car. I drive my car hard and cannot have it fail because of faulty work. It's a peace of mind thing to do it myself.

Thanks guys
The worse is that I have been to the dealer last week to complain about the noise... we found out that my Buschur exhaust have been install with stock bolts and springs. Springs were loose. I have checked the exhaust with the tech thinking it could be the reason with no luck.
He did not check the shaft

OK, I've started checking the manual. here is what I've found:
When you look at my transmission:
You can see that part # 3 on the diagram are missing on my car...
So I'm not fixing it by myself.... I just put nuts to support the shaft in the mean time but I've deceided to do not drive it until it's fixed.
