Haha- great posts so far. I love this car. There was a *short* time when I thought that I bought the wrong vehicle....I wanted a boat and I needed a truck, then I started looking for a new house and started driving around town looking at apartments, ride was killing me, low suspension height made it a pain. I was thinking I should have bought a truck!! Then I went to Deal's Gap, NC...visited Killboy's territory. I fell in love with the car all over again, insane handling, grip, I remembered why this was my dream car when I was younger. I remember reading a mag about Evo 3 or so and thinking that if this is ever brought in the US, I'd buy it. 280 hp -- an insane amount at the time! Wow.

Anyway I just came back from Deal's gap again this weekend (13 hour drive) and love it even more.

Can't wait till the next autocross. I can only imagine one way that someone will hate the car; if they don't ever track/autox it and if you don't get to find some curves. Yeah it's fast in a line, but it's deadly on the turns!

It can also carry four adults...look at the pic from the Gap!

If there is any doubt!!!!
The first curve you hit will help eliminate any stains of doubt or a passenger just might leave a stain if in doubt. (had to roll down the windows once after an exit ramp)

I loved my car but had to sell to get married, since I have gotten married and want to get another one man I love theses cars. I have had every car out there, 1st, 2nd gen DSM, Muscle cars, a 350z, a subbie, hell even drove a RAV4 for awhile. I now have a 07 GTI with package 2 and REVO STG 2 software and I can say NO car out there compares not even close. I want to drive a EVO again.

Just my two cents..

I love the EVO!!

I came from an E46 M3, nicely modded. Coilovers, SSR GT3 wheels, Eisenmann Exhuast, and some visual mods.

Now I have a Stage 1 Evo IX. Around 330WHP. Its so fast, and fun to daily drive. People who don't know what Evo's are think its some ricer POS, with crappy plastic interior. I say F*** them. The things I care about in the interior(Recaros, steering wheel, shifter) are superb. People don't have an idea of how amazing these cars are because they've never driven one. I am planning to keep my Evo for a while because I can use it year round. I'll probably pay this off, and pick up a another car to go along with it. Probably a Porsche.

people like that are just like I was before, you own one vehicle for quite some time and you want something else. They see something on the web/road - friend - they want that particular car and thats how it is.

This is exacly what im thinking.... I have fun all season with this car, does interior looks ****ty? exterior? maybe.. I care about handling and power easy to disasamble things, everything you can take apart. When people look at me and laugh? because of my wing? i just ignore them! and say f. it.

Just so you guys know i came from v8s also, and I was just so f mad when there was snow on the ground

keeping my evo forever.

p/s: i would love to own m3 one day like you, since my bro had one with same wheels, I STILL got them in my garage. and visual look+ blisten coils!. the car was amazing to drive, feels a little heavy and you need some deep pockets! ;d but the best looking car out there when on coils and wheels.

I've had the Evo for only a few months, and it's the best car I have or do own. It's also the most expensive car I have bought, but it's well worth the money. My main fear is that I won't be able to curb my appetite for modding the car, since it responds so well and has lots of potential.

Wow, cool. I also had Bilstein PSS9s. I know what you mean about the heaviness. I think its ok if its a couple of hundred pounds heavier than the Evo. Look at all of the luxury, and well built quality you get. Not to mention soundproofing, which the Evo doesnt have much of.
