Desert heat + Stock Rad = problems down the road?

This was my second summer here in vegas and it was a scorcher! We had 45 days of straight three digit temps (I think we were up to about 115 at one point!). Driving my evo around in extreme heat with the AC on, I can't help but wonder if upgrading to a better radiator would keep my engine healthy and problem free down the road. I don't track the car or even autocross it and most of my driving is going to and from work and as well as sporadic weekend drives. Would there be any value in upgrading my rad afa longevity is concerned or should I just flush the radiator and keep the OE rad? I'm sure mitsu designed the cooling system to withstand desert heat but a little help couldn't hurt right? If I'm not going to trade up to an Evo X, I'd like to keep my 8 running healthy for as long as it can. TIA!

PS. Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum.

Should be okay, just keep an eye on your water temp.

What about adding water wetter? Anything that'll have the car running a lil cooler. But overall, it'll prob be ok

It should be fine. Maybe use some water wetter and flush the coolant once a year.

I ran the stock radiator for over three years in Vegas with no problems. You'll be fine.

I was under the impression that if you used wetter you'd need to refresh the coolant more often -- might wanna look into that.

I believe Water Wetter is most effective if you are running mostly water as it lowers the surface tension of water and allows it it disappate heat easier....

Second summer in vegas with a IX, and my water temp needle is always at the same place. Only reason it would overheat is if ur fans shut off.

I was out there a month ago and two days was enough for me. I was thinking what it would be like to live out there during the summer and driving my car in that heat. Personaly, I would upgrade my Oil Cooler first, then maybe one of Chad's Radiators.
Defiantly made me appreciate San Diego.
