Usually right bu the sales man told me the bought the car off the guy, no trade in and he wanted badly to sell it. So I'm sure they low balled him 20K or under and now they are over pricing it cause they are not making thaty body style anymore. But there is now way I'm paying close to 27K more like 21-21K.

that price is really high, if their justification is the previous owner babied it and that is reason to price it above market, you got plenty of leverage, since you are asking them to "trust" them.
c'mon, aim for 21-22K

You defenatly should look sowhere else. Dealers will never going to sell you a car cheap. They will get you anyway in the price of the car or the trade. There was 04 with SSL and some mods with 62k miles on it sold for only 16,5.

I have been looking. As I have stated earlier in the tread I'm in no rush to buy if the numbers are not right I can walk away. I'm kicking tires but will definitly but if the price is right. I have more important things to spend crazy money on, Like my wife, just got married three months ago and our new house. if the payments are close to were I am now then I would do it..

Ok got back from the dealer, the car was in ok shape has a bunch of chips and a couple of scraches. There was a stress crack on the rear bumper and all the wheels had some curb rash, there was some small rust spots in the trunk were the lid cushings meet the rear fenders?? I have never seen that before maybe the car was in accident and the rear was painted? The stock exhaust tip was in perfect condition like it was not even on the car the tip was still blinging. Also the clutch was upgraded cause the clutch pedal was stiff as hell, no way stock. The rear spoiler was replaced due to fadding,( saw the service history) and had a drop in filter. All in all it was ok. The car was definitly modded or he can't drive cause no reason to replace the clutch before 25k miles. So the after looking at it the salesman says " We can only discount maybe a $1000 or $500", "I said no way then the price is too high I have seen 06's with less or same miles on it for that price, even saw an 06 MR for 28,500 with 8500 miles". He said no way, So we went on line and he saw them, then he asked me what I wanted to pay for the car, I said 22k and pay of my trade. They looked at my trade and tried to talk to a sales manager at VW but could not get anyone so he took my number and said he would call. Owell if he doesnt call no biggie. Oh he also asked how long I was in the car bussiness cause I went through the car with a fine tooth comb, LOL I think they tried to pull one over on me. No way man. So now I wait..
