Should I get a name brand exhaust?
Hey, I'm about to get exhaust & i found this exhaust that looks good but it's a brand I've never heard of before (and costs more than most of the name brand exhausts).
It's called Tanabe "Concept G Blue" have you guys heard of it? and if you have what do you think about it compared to the others out there?
Right now it's between this one, Agency, or Bushur.. what do you think - for performance & sound

Just make sure you get it from someone who will back it up if you have a problem. I had one of my hangers break loose the weld came apart. And the maker paid for the shipping and the repair and sent me a few hats and t-shirts for the trouble.
RMR Rhys Millen Racing. Great Cat back and not to loud but make great power.

you kidding right? you never heard about Tanabe?
oh boy....
the Tanabe is a very good, higly respected company from Japan. They product always very high quality and reilable.
The Concept G Blue is a racing catback for the Evo .Therefore will be loud, less restrrictive ,free flowing exhaust. The fitment will be perfect, never heard ANY issues with Tanabe, period. And the other hand whp is deppened on so many factor we dont want to get into it. For hint:
evo vs evo out the factory will have different whp .
the parts you put it on, how they react and work with each other.
Then The tune you get.
So it is very hard to say wich exhaust will fit for you better. End of the day it is your car ,so you need to decide wich one you will like to see day after day on your car.
Those exhaust you lined up there i would say Tanabe. Looks awsome sounds great etc.The "second" or the other choice would be the Buschur. But this is MY opinion.

I'm probably going to pay around 900 for it, I dont know about it now though.. If it's that loud I don't know if I want to get it, and then get hassled by the F ing cops around here every 2 seconds.

Never ever had problems with cops with my exhaust.
No slip fits all bolt on flanges and stainless steel. No huge bottle necks and extremely quiet with amazing quality/finish.
My review:

Now do you want to squeeze out every .1 - 3 whp or do you want good power, excellent fit/quality, and as quiet as it gets with 3 inch? Me personally I dont care if I have to sacrifice 10 whp, as long as its qiuet and works efficiently (meaning no huge neck downs).

Just to make things clear the Tanabe Medallion Concept G Blue is a turbo back. It includes a cat-back, test pipe, and downpipe. The cat-back and test pipe have 80mm piping, but the downpipe has 70mm piping. It cost just as much as the AMS turbo back with a test pipe. But the AMS system has 76mm piping all throughout.
Here a link from the Tanabe web site on their system.
