I've dealt with this myself, for those that are going to autozone to buy pb blaster or what not, just rent a slide hammer FOR FREE. I struggled with this thing for an hour with all kinds of techniques, went and rented the tool, figured out how to use it in a minute, got the silencer out in one try with extremely little effort, and returned it to the store.

HaHa My b/f had to cut mine out. It was horrible, I thought I just waisted my money by the looks of how bad it was massacred. But in the end he got it out and no dents or scratches.

Just use your breaker bar (all metal) and shove the handle end in the exhaust. Move the it side to side or up and down. The silencer always wiggles off with out issue.

i took mine out as soon as i got the exhaust... sucks all you guys left them on... and if your exhaust has a whole that is not as big as the tail then there is a silencer in there...

Got mine on (and off) today with relative ease. As I found on this and other forums, a little PB blaster, and a slide hammer worked with about 3-4 hits, and was done!
$19.99
Think this will work great for my winter/daily and then when I want to really enjoy it! Mine was an AMS Silencer/exhaust, as a reference.

Ok I drive a 03 Eclipse and I just bought the Ti-C for it. Had some trouble trying to get the silencer off at first but I went to walmart and bought for $1.88 some metal marshmellow cookers! Bent the 2 ends into a hook can it came out no problem! Perfect condition and everything! Gotta try it!

hi, thank god found this post.
got the ti c and major problem. one of the three allen screws is f*ck3d.
When I put the appropriate-size allen key it slips because the screws edges are bent.
how can I get it out??
