Is Tanabe "Concept G Blue" exhaust too loud for a DD?
I'm just about to buy the Concept G Blue exhaust, but I heard it was really loud.
It looks like the best exhaust out there to me, but I'm gonna be stuck w/ it once I get it so do you guys think it will **** me off after a while, or attract attention from our police friends?
If I shouldn't get it, anyone have any good alternatives for the best performance?
Thx

You can listen to some sound clips on youtube to help you make a decision. For the most part a 3" exhaust is a 3" exhaust performance wise, regardless of who makes it. Having said that, there is definitely a difference in the way they sound. I use the Turbo XS tbe, and love it. The sound is not too loud, but you know it's there. Also it a nice even sound. I've heard of other exhausts sounding horrible at low rpm, but great when you go wot. I'd go to youtube and listen to some sound clips if I were you. Good luck!

Well, that's a tough question to answer since everyone has different sound tolerances. I know a few people who DD with a Greddy Ti, while others think it's the loudest most obnoxious exhaust in all the lands. Best thing to do is listen to it in person and find out if it's too loud for you.

Whats too loud for you? For me too loud is if I can hear the exhaust inside the cabin while driving normally.
If you are the same way then you should get the Tanabe Touring Medallion.

imho as long as you have a aftermarket down pipe and a cat delete your car is going to be loud no matter what aftermarket exhaust you buy. BTW I perfer the same brand complete exhaust, if you get one get all from the same brand.

There are some aftermarket catbacks and testpipes that are resonated which helps to deduce the noise. I know the greddy evo2 and the RMR catback does at least.
Listening to clips on youtube won't really tell you how loud an exhaust is since theres volume adjustment.

Ya youtube clips just kind of show you what they sound like/ Too loud for me is if I start getting hassled by the cops. I'm also kind of worried about it not being street legal.. Is that somthing to really worry about(as far as fix it tickets & ****)?

I get many compliments from other ppl on my Tanabe Concept G blue. I haven't been harrassed by any cops yet. You hear it in the cab and it sounds awesome at WOT. I don't think its too loud though.
