small accident, have question

my bumper just got hit and needs to be replaced. Now when going through insurance or liability would it be illegal for the shop to order 06 parts for my 03 evo. Instead of a 03 i buy an 06 bumper?
thanx

Depending on the insurance company you can either have them pay the shop directly in which case they will just order Evo VIII parts, or some will just send you the check and let you get the parts. Just FYI its a big task changing the front end from an Evo VIII to an Evo IX. Do a search on here and you'll find the how to.

^^ Thats how it usually works- you get a quote from any shop they will do a once over and estimate their own cost and probably just send u a check.

Just get the insurance company to say that the dealership cannot get you that type of headlamp anymore :P
