You have had the Evo this long and unless you got the loan for something ungodly (7 years) the car will be paid off in two years. I say screw all your options keep the car till you pay off the Evo save your money (cause honestly if you are thinking about selling your car and you have had it the way it is this long it won't matter to you to keep it the same for two more years) and use the money that you saved as a deposit toward that nice little car of yours and then you can have your cake and eat it too. A little patients will pay off in the end.

So far it seems like #2 is the way people are leaning which is kinda they way I feel too the more and more I think about it. Obvioulsy I am in no rush either, just kickin aorund ideas. A couple of people mentioned goin to a 2.3 stoker which I hadn't thought about - do you guys think that will help make the motor last longer?

AWD bmws are heavy and slow, especially vs. evo. if you were to get a bmw, go RWD, go "M". otherwise, keep your car and refresh it. having a fresh motor would be SWEET, esp. after 90k, not to mention your thinking about alot more power. i think you know your decision. OPTION 2

umm Keep the damn car! change tbelt/tensioner do oil change front/rear diff, trans, drive it, if engine takes a ****, buy a used one with low milage and the car will least another 2-3years+++ just make sure you do all the maintanance, I know if you do that, and do not beat the **** out of it, it will last.

I have alot of faith in Mitsu's believe it or not, my pops had a 96 Galant that lasted 220k! (He drives alot more than I do lol) That is until someone decided it would be a great idea to plow into it while it was parked.

i dont really agree with all these guys tellin you to put in the 2.3L. a new car is always going to feel better than a 90K evo. i love evos, but if your gonna shell out a bunch of money, do it for something like a Beamer. i say go for the coupe.

from a financial-only point of view, it's a horrible decision to give up a nearly paid-off car that still runs well, and go dive into $800/mo payments for the next X years. Been there, done that - with an E46 M3 convertible a few years ago - it was fun for the time, but now I wish I had been smarter with my money.
I'd agree with others here who said to make some small changes to the Evo to spice it up a little... (I feel like I'm giving marriage counseling here )
