90K - What would you do?

So far it seems like #2 is the way people are leaning which is kinda they way I feel too the more and more I think about it. Obvioulsy I am in no rush either, just kickin aorund ideas. A couple of people mentioned goin to a 2.3 stoker which I hadn't thought about - do you guys think that will help make the motor last longer?

Yeah the $800 per month payment will suck a big sack. Just think of the future value of $800 per month at like 8% for five years...$58,781...at 10% for five years...$61,949. I say keep the car, pay it off, do some engine work to make her as good as new, maybe tune up the suspension a little, and add some sound deadening (what I am going to do) to make it feel more like a BMW (I know it won't be the real thing, but better than the drone I get now)...

Id go with option 2. While your doing the tbelt and all the other mods you may just want to have a compression check done. If its still looking good than do the mods. If not than just refresh the motor like they were talking about and see if you can even put in forged pistons and rods. Theres really no reason to go 2.3 unless you REALLY want to, but if your sticking with a stock like/size turbo than theres no reason to. These are reliable engines and cars if treated well and not dogged out all the time.
How much have you gotten quoted for just the tbelt service if you dont mind me asking? Im coming up on 60k and would like to find an average. I had a local guy who works at a shop quote me 400 for labor, but i still need to get parts as well.

Option 3! If the cars paid off, just fix it and drive it till you can't stand it nomore. I regret selling my 80k 02 wrx for the Evo. Shoulda just drove that subbie till it died.
